Ga Ga goo goo -

July 8th 2010

Always proud to have a fellow New Yorker (and former artist colleague -- ran in some of the same artist management circles a few years back) make it to the big leagues. And people really are going Ga Ga over her- parking out in NYC's insanely warm weather to see a free show this week. God Bess it.. Meanwhile I'm here the 'The Stock' recouping and getting my ass back in the studio preparing for our Fall tour schedules.

Music Monday - Melody Gardot

July 6th 2010

Came across Melody this month reading my music magazines and I have to say what a Talent. The kind of talent that you found years ago - but in today's hyper composed/mass entertained/ amazing mess we're living in. There has always been this little alarm that goes off in me when I come across a new talent. The kind of alarm that trickles across my senses when it wants, and BOOM there it is- a real deal artist making its way into the cushions of society.

What I found particularly interesting about her, is the accident she had in 2003.

Woodstock Wed: Imagine

June 17th 2010

Sitting at the bar at my fav little local chinese hole, and watching the World Cup, our head of PR begins reading to me the loss of instruments from Nashville's flood. Hendrix's guitar, and so many valuable instruments that were stored at Sound Check are now gone. Not to mention much of Nashville's institutions like the Grand Ole Opry House also damaged. As she's reading and I'm waiting for Italy to score another goal, my heart just sinks.
